Are You Saved?

Imagine this : You’re on your computer working late into the night on a school project. You spent hours, and hours getting things right, doing research, and crafting your project to get a good grade. But…you didn’t save your work then everything crashes! How would you feel? terrible right! I speak from experience.

It’s the same with being ” saved “. If you noticed we don’t live forever on earth, we all have birthdate and death date. You could be the coolest person on earth, but if Jesus hasn’t saved your heart then on the last day everything you’ve done will be lost. This was the dilemma king Solomon faced after he amassed great power and wealth, and then realized that his life was going end. He cried out ” Meaningless, meaningless… chasing after the wind ” (Ecclesiastes 1: 14) . You could be the hardest worker, famous, rich, and have the most wonderful career, but if you are not connected with the Creator through Christ then everything you have will be lost in the end. I know that sounds disheartening, but it doesn’t have to be that way!

Jesus came so you could be right with the Creator. He came so that you could have life and life to the fullest ( John 10:10). But human pride ( thinking we know it all) and bitterness often cause people not to accept God’s gift of eternal life. But God doesn’t want you to be lost, he loves you! John 3:16 says :

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

Luke 9:10

Jesus aka “the Son of Man” did not come to condemn you but came so that through him you may be saved!

The only thing he calls us to do is to repent from our wicked ways. To repent means to turn away from things that don’t bring light and life. Sin disconnects us from God, and if we continue to intentionally sin it shows God that we’re not serious about loving him, and loving others which are the greatest commandments. Just like if you’re in a relationship and a person says ” I love you” but keeps being unfaithful – they really don’t love you.

Conclusion

Make your work count, make your life count, submit it to Christ. In the words of Jesus, ” What is it for a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul?” Repent from evil, and put your trust in God.

Prayer of Redemption

Dear Heavenly Father, I submit my heart to you. Cleanse me of all bitterness. I forgive everyone who has hurt me, just as you have forgiven me. I receive your gift of life and turn away from my wicked prideful ways. I believe Jesus is the one who makes me right with you. I put all my trust in Jesus and will strive to follow his ways for the rest of my day. Amen!
