A Prayer of Devotion

As I was reading about Achan in Joshua 5:13-7:26 today, it made me realize the dangers of hidden sin. Because of Achan’s sin, the Israelites weren’t able to stand against their enemies (v.11 -12).  They took what was devoted to God, and kept it for themselves. Think about that for a moment. What belongs to God? What are some things we keep, that keeps us from victory? It could be a bad attitude, a habit, or belief… it could be a time in the morning that we’re supposed to spend with God. When we hold back from God, we’re actually holding ourselves back.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, I give you my everything, not holding back anything. Take all my pride, dreams, and desires, and use them for your glory. I worship you alone because you created me, you loved me, and you died for me. Your inscription is on my DNA, therefore I belong to you.  Let your Spirit empower me to live in faith and seek your provisions. I give you my all because you gave your all for me. Amen.
